Particle Accelerated Maglev Train

In the 1920’s, Lawrence Cyclotron came up with an amazing invention, the particle accelerator. The first particle accelerator sped up two particles to about half of light speed (by the way the speed of light is 299,792,458 m/s) and rammed them together.  It could fit in the palm of your hand.  Now, there are some that are 14 miles long or 35 kilometers and sped particles up to 99.999% the speed of light, and rammed the two particles together usually for scientific research.  Sometimes new elements were created during this process.  I thought that if a particle accelerator can accelerate two particles why can’t it do the same with a couple hundred trillion particles and accelerate a Maglev train?  So if it’s possible, you could live on a beach and get to the city in a trillionth of a trillionth of  a second!

I was watching a video called “Into the Universe with Steven Hawking, Time Travel” and just by coincidence,  He talked about accelerating a train to 99.999% the speed of light.  Looks like I might be on the right (train) track.
